Abstract

1373479 Clutch control SKF INDUSTRIAL TRADING & DEVELOPMENT CO BV 12 April 1973 [13 April 1972] 17626/73 Heading F2L An hydraulically operated clutch release bearing assembly comprises outer and inner races 12, 14 constructed of sheet metal and axially movable within a housing 3, 6 under the action of fluid pressure supplied through a bore 9 to disengage the clutch. The bearing 2 is sealed in the housing through a diaphragm 17, and is permitted angular and radial play therein for centring of the bearing by virtue of clearance between the bearing 2 and the portion 6 of the housing. A spring 19 acts on the bearing via a presser plate 18. In a further embodiment a central bore is provided for passage of the output shaft of the clutch (Fig. 2, not shown) and in a yet further embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown) the inner race is non-rotating and the outer acts on the clutch operating means (the opposite from that shown).
