Abstract

1372878 Road surface markers MINNESOTA MINING & MFG CO 7 Sept 1971 25507/74 Divided out of 1372876 Heading E1G A road surface marker 28, shown adhered in a roadway recess 37, comprises an elastomeric base 29 and an integral upstanding flap 30 which either consists of, or carries an adhered sheet of, a retro-reflective structure as in Specification 1372876 comprising an elastomeric material having many hundreds of minute retro-reflective elements (such as glass beads) partially embedded in its surface. As shown the flap 30 is inclined and has across its width, Fig. 7 (not shown) four rectangular recesses each accommodating a retro-reflective structure. Alternate recesses may incorporate glass beads of different refractive index for wet and dry reflection. The top edge of the flap may carry a further flap or another retroreflective structure. In a modification the upstanding flap is perpendicular to and central of a base. Specification 1372877 is referred to.
