Abstract

1370729 Electro-mechanical filters SIEMENS AG 30 Aug 1972 [10 Sept 1971] 40101/72 Heading H3U Resonators 10 of the bending mode type, Fig. 1, or the longitudinal or torsional type, Fig. 3, used in mechanical filters are provided with recesses 1, by cutting or pressing, the spacing 9 between parallel edges of the recesses accurately delimiting the length of welded contact between coupling element(s) (12), Figs. 2, 4 (not shown), and the resonators for accurately reproducible characteristics and mechanical strength. In Fig. 6 (not shown), the filter comprises resonators of the Fig. 1 type, coupled by a single filament (12), whereas, in Figs. 5 and 7 (not shown), filters comprise resonators of the Fig. 2 type operating in the longitudinal, resp. torsional, modes (13, 13<SP>1</SP>; 15, 151) and coupled by pairs of couplers (12), those of Fig. 5 being stressed in bending. Input/output coupling may be electrostrictive or magnetostrictive in character.
