Abstract

1368663 Fixing harmful metal ions in soil SANKYO KASEI CO Ltd 14 Aug 1972 [20 Aug 1971] 37757/72 Heading C1B A method for treating acidic or neutral soil to fix a metal ion harmful to plant or animal life, comprises adding to the soil a mercapto-striazine or water-soluble salt thereof, said triazine having the formula wherein R is hydrogen, -NH4, -OH, alkyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, alkoxy having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, phenyl, cyclohexyl, oxazinyl, phenoxy, morpholino, -NR<1>2 or SR<11>, R<1> being hydrogen, alkyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, phenyl, cyclohexyl, naphthyl or benzyl, R<11> being alkyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, phenyl, cyclohexyl, naphthyl or benzyl; m is an integer of 1 to 3 and n is 0 or an integer of 1 to 2. The triazines also prevent nitrification.
