1367299 Flotation apparatus DEGREMONT SOC GENERALE D'EPURATION ET D'ASSAINISSEMENT 22 Oct 1971 [26 Nov 1970] 49195/71 Heading C1C In a flotation apparatus a stream of liquid to be treated (e.g. flocculated water) is passed from conduit c through a pit a into flotion tank b and treated with a stream of liquid saturated with gas (e.g. air) under pressure introduced horizontally into pit a through conduit d. The stream from conduit d is not tangential with respect to the stream from conduit c and the two streams do not directly intersect. Conduit d is provided with means for causing a stepped expansion of the gas-saturated liquid before entering pit a, e.g. the conduit d may comprise two valves, a valve and a tuyere or a valve and a pipe section of a smaller diameter than the conduit.
