Abstract

1366570 Sprinkler nozzles KOYO FASTENER CO Ltd 1 Nov 1972 50329/72 Heading B2F An irrigation sprinkler nozzle comprises a cylindrical rivet which is secured to a water supply pipe by a pin which is inserted into a recess in the rivet to distort the lower end thereof to hold the rivet in place. As shown, the rivet R has diametrically opposed slots 5 which communicate with a recess 3, insertion of the stem 7 of the pin P causing portions 6 of the rivet to distort as shown in Fig. 5. Water is directed along the stem 7 and a surface 8a to be sprayed in all radial directions. The pin shown may have axial straight or curved grooves or projections and the recess 3 may have axial straight grooves or projections. In a modified construction (Figs. 23-32 not shown) the pin has no enlarged head but the rivet is so provided, grooves or projections being provided on the outer surface of the rivet. Any of the pins may have at its lower end a bulbous portion and additionally an annular groove, to grip the portions 6 to provide a greater securing force. The spray pattern can be confiined to certain directions, e.g. to produce a fan shaped spray by restricting the number of grooves along the stem of the pin.
