Abstract

1366274 Power steering mechanism SOC ANON DBA 12 March 1973 [30 March 1972] 11728/73 Heading B7H A valve rotor 12 is secured at its outer end to a steering shaft, while a valve sleeve 14 surrounds the rotor. A torsion bar 16 connects the rotor to a gear or worm 10 by pins 18, 19. The gear 10 is secured to the sleeve 14 by a pin 22 projecting radially through an opening in the sleeve 14 fitted with an elastomeric ring 24. In modifications, the ring is received in an annular groove, Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown), and the ring has a rounded inner wall, Fig. 4 (not shown). The invention permits easy dismounting of the sleeve 14 without affecting the adjustment of the rotary valve.
