1365443 Polyisobutylene sealing compositions SIEMENS AG 10 May 1972 [22 June 1971] 21977/72 Heading C3P Sealing compositions for electrical cables and power lines comprise (a) 20 to 30 weight per cent of partially crosslinked butyl rubber, (b) 30 to 40 weight per cent of a polyisobutylene or mixture of polyisobutylenes having a molecular weight of 7000 to 12,000 and (c) 30 to 50 weight per cent of carbon black. The butyl rubber may be partially vulcanized with p-dinitrosobenzene or N,4-dinitroso-N-methylaniline. The compositions may be formed by masticating the partially crosslinked butyl rubber on rolls, adding the polyisobutylene in increments and finally adding the carbon black.
