Abstract

1365273 Glass composition E I DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO 1 March 1973 [2 March 1972] 9991/73 Heading C1M A glass frit consists essentially (by weight) of 5-22% PbO, 1-5% CaO, 0À7-3% Al2O3, 0À7-2À5% B2O3, 5-20% SiO2 and 50-85% Bi2O3. The frit may be mixed with silver or a silver/palladium mixture or alloy to form a metallizing composition. The metal component preferably comprises (by weight) 66-100% Ag and 0-34% Pd. The metallizing composition preferably contains 3-30% by weight of the frit (solids). The metallizing composition may be dispersed in a conventional inert liquid vehicle. The metallizing composition may be applied to an alumina substrate.
