Abstract

1364890 Gas burners COMPAGNIE EUROPEENNE POUR L'EQUIPEMENT MENAGER 24 Nov 1971 [27 Nov 1970 24 May 1971] 54669/71 Heading F4T A gas burner comprises a cylindrical shell 8 of sheet metal which encloses a mixing chamber 6 and has an inlet tube 1 for a combustible gas and air mixture at one end and a plurality of outlet holes 7 in its cylindrical wall, there being provided in the chamber 6 a deflector 12 having an inclined surface positioned opposite the outlet holes 7 to direct the gas/air mixture through the holes at an acute angle to the direction of inlet throughflow. A pilot flame slot 5 is fed from an expansion chamber 10 defined by a lower burner cup 3 and holes 9 and the size of the slot is determined by a flange 15 or by bosses on the shell 8 or cup 3. The bottom 13 of the deflector is curved upwards to a degree which determines the volume of the chamber 6. In alternative embodiments it may be flat or open. A cover 11 is provided which is secured by crimping over the upper periphery 14 of the shell 8. The deflector and cover may be combined in a single member suitably of ceramic material with a self-cleaning catalytic enamel coating.
