Abstract
1364571 Heat exchanger tube supports ATOMIC ENERGY OF CANADA Ltd 21 Feb 1972 [19 March 1971] 7936/72 Heading F4S [Also in Division G6] A heat exchanger tube bundle assembly comprises a plurality of tubes 1, 2 laterally spaced apart in triangular arrays by a lattice arrangement 6 of wire cables 8 and 10 the ends of which are held in position by means of a surrounding frame 4. Curved recesses 16 in the frame serve to hold the outermost tubes 2 in position. The ends of the cables 8 and 10 are received in bores 14 and 15 in the frame 4 and may be welded thereto. Alternatively the cables may be removably secured in the bores by, e.g. wedges or screw-threaded connections, to facilitate replacement of one of the tubes or cables or by tensioning devices (29a, Fig. 3). The lattice arrangement 6 may include a plurality of further wire cables (18, Fig. 2). Flat braided wire cables (not shown) can be used wtih the flat sides in contact with the tubes.
