Abstract
1362970 Heat-processable; photo-sensitive photographic materials EASTMAN KODAK CO 28 Oct 1971 [28 Oct 1970] 50170/71 Heading G2C A heat-developable, photo-sensitive photographic material contains (i) photo-sensitive silver halide prepared in the presence of a hydrophobic polymer peptizer e.g. polyvinyl butyral, or in the presence of a polyethylene glycol peptizer, (ii) a light-insensitive reducible metal compound e.g. silver behenate, and (iii) a reducing agent e.g. 2 : 2'-dihydroxy-1 : 1'- binaphthyl. When a hydrophobic polymer peptizer is used, a water-in-oil dispersion of droplets of aqueous silver nitrate in a solution of hydrophobic polymer in a solvent is reacted with a solution of a halide. When a polyethylene glycol peptizer is used the precipitation is conducted in aqueous medium. Other components of the heat-developable, photo-sensitive composition may be a phthalimide toner and a sensitizing dye.
