Abstract

1362263 Dehumidifier E P S (RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT) Ltd 2 Feb 1972 [10 Feb 1971] 4330/71 Heading BIL [Also in Division E1] A flame arrest dehumidifier 61 comprises an inlet chamber 62 having an electric fan and an outlet chamber 63 having a dissicating coil 63a comprising a wire heating element wrapped in a dessicant carrying material. The unit 61 also comprises a pair of opposed inlet ports 65 having a control valve 68 and a pair of opposed outlet ports 69 having a control valve 72. All gases pass through flame assisting baffles 80, 81, 83 and mounted on each of the inlet conduits is a safety switch 84 sensitive to both temperature and pressure. In a modification, see Fig. 5 (not shown), the dehumidifier is divided into two compartments by a perforated partition, one compartment having a fan heater and the other consisting of a series of perforated cages containing silica gel pellets.
