Abstract

1362089 Door checks J J ESCALONA 10 Feb 1972 [11 Feb 1971] 6252/72 Heading E2M A door check adapted to be mounted in a door panel comprises a support 2 pivotally mounted on a pivot bolt 9, a cam 11 having a recess and non-rotatably mounted on the pivot bolt, and a cam follower 12 biassed into contact with the surface of the cam. A resilient U-shaped casing 22 cooperates with the support 2 to enclose the cam and follower, and the surface of the cam 11 is in sliding contact with the casing. The pivot bolt 9 is rigidly connected to a door mounting plate (10), Figure 10 (not shown), and the arrangement is such that when the door is rotated about the pivot bolt 9 the support 2, casing 22 and follower 12 rotate around the cam 11 which is held stationery by the pivot bolt, and the follower 12 traverses the surface of the cam. The door is checked when the follower 12 engages in a recess 34, 36 or 38, and when the follower is adjacent a recess the spring 5 urges the follower into the recess to cause the cam to move into a checked position. In the illustrated embodiment the three recesses enable the door to be held in the closed position, 90‹ open position and fully open position.
