Abstract

1361013 Film packages E I DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO 6 July 1971 [7 July 1970 22 April 1971] 31682/71 Heading G2X [Also in Division H5] A package of films such as X-ray films comprises a stack of photo-sensitive film sheets arranged as alternate first and second sheets, each first sheet having a small cutaway portion along one edge in a first position, and each second sheet having a similar cutaway portion along the same edge in a second position, the package having an outer opaque cover. As shown, all the sheets 20 have an identical semicircular cutaway portion 26 at a distance d from the centre line 24. Preferably the cutaway portion is provided at both ends of the sheets. In stacking the sheets the orientation of successive sheets is alternated between two positions, so that the alternate cutaway portions are superimposed to form two rows 28, 30. In Fig. 2 (not shown) the cutaway portions are at the corners of the sheets. The stack is enclosed in an outer light-opaque cover (32), Fig.4 (not shown). The package is used with a dispenser machine, which removes the cover and dispenses the film sheets one by one into a cassette.
