Abstract

1360484 Button protectors A B M WOLNY 11 April 1972 [21 April 1971] 10383/71 Heading A3H [Also in Division E2] In dry cleaning of garments, buttons are protected from cleaning fluids by enclosing them in capsules of plastic material. The capsules are in two parts joined at a hinge portion and one part has a head 14 which releasably fits into a channel 16 on the other part and a snap closure retains the parts in closed position. An aperture 12 allows the cotton joining the button to the garment to pass through the capsule. In one embodiment, Fig. 9, the two parts are held together by a releasable catch which comprises a tab 20 on an elastic link 22 that fits into opening 26 of abutment 24. One part of the capsule has a rib 32 which is sealingly located in a channel 30 on the other part. Upstanding extensions 34 facilitate opening of the capsule when the catch is released.
