Abstract
1359368 Cathode-ray tubes THORN COLOUR TUBES Ltd 31 July 1972 [19 Aug 1971] 39025/71 Heading H1D A cathode-ray tube has an anti-implosion band wound around the envelope at the periphery of the face-plate, the band consisting of a thermosetting resin-impregnated, omnidirectional filament-reinforced, tape. The tape can include filaments of glass, boron, carbon or metal wires or foils. The resin can be polyester or epoxy resin. Mounting lugs for the tube can be secured by the bandage. The resin can be cured by high-frequency heating. A lathe-type machine for winding the tape is described.
