Abstract

1358823 Laminates; seaming non-metallic sheet material PROCTER & GAMBLE CO 10 Jan 1973 [10 Jan 1972] 1269/73 Headings B5N and B5K [Also in Division B8] The body 10 of a collapsible tube is formed by longitudinally-folding and heat-sealing, Fig. 2 (not shown), a laminated sheet comprising inner, intermediate and outer synthetic polymer layers 20, 22 and 24 bonded to interposed aluminium foil layers 21 and 23. The polymer layers may be of polyethylene and be bonded to the foil layers by a copolymer of ethylene with vinyl acetate or acrylic acid. Specific layer thicknesses are given together with a desired empirical relationship between the thicknesses of the polymer layers and the combined thickness of the foil layers.
