Abstract

1358312 Two-part couplings AMP Inc 19 April 1971 [11 March 1970] 22234/71 Heading H2E An electrical socket housing comprising a onepiece body moulded from insulating material having contact receiving passageways 14, 15 and a lateral aperture, at 8 (Fig. 8) for the reception of leads for the contacts is provided with a hinged lid integral with the body, the lid and the body having latching means; and with mounting means 11 for fixing to a support. In the described embodiment a housing made from nylon is designed for installation in the test circuit of a vehicle and is provided with contacts for the power and signal circuits of the vehicle. Passageways 15 receive tab contacts for the power circuit and passageways 14 receive spring contacts for the signal circuits. A mating plug is described provided with guide means and a spring blade which engages the latching means 6 on the socket housing to hold the plug and socket together.
