Abstract
1358204 Elastomeric polyacrylate compositions AMERICAN CYANAMID CO 31 Jan 1972 [1 March 1971] 4434/72 Headings C3G and C3P Vulcanizable elastomeric compositions are prepared by copolymerizing a major proportion of (1) at least one lower alkyl acrylic acid ester monomer with a minor proportion of (2) at monomer containing a halogen or epoxy group, in the presence of 0À25-10 wt. per cent, based on total monomer, of an unsaturated polymer in which at least 75% of the original saturation is still retained and which has a M.W. in the range 500-4000. Conventional polymerization techniques and catalysts are used. In examples, the unsaturated polymer is liquid hydroxy- or arylterminated polybutadiene, and the following monomers are used: (Monomer 1) ethyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate/butyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate/ methoxyethyl acrylate, and ternary mixtures of ethyl and butyl acrylates with methoxymethyl- or ethoxyethylacrylate; and (Monomer 2) vinyl chloroacetate.
