Abstract

1357475 Packages TETLEY Inc 22 March 1972 13507/72 Heading B8C A package 10 of at least partially de-gassed, ground, roasted coffee consists of a flexible plastics envelope 11 of a material more permeable to carbon dioxide than to oxygen and moisture, the coffee 13 within the envelope being surrounded by an atmosphere of at least carbon dioxide whose partial pressure is at least 80% that of the partial pressure of the carbon dioxide remaining in the coffee. The plastics material may be a laminate of polypropylene, polyethylene, polystyrene, polyester, polycarbonate; cellulose acetate, or vinyl, in a form of a tube which is transversely heatsealed.
