Abstract

1357000 Skin cleansing composition BRITISH-AMERICAN TOBACCO CO Ltd 16 Sept 1971 [17 Sept 1970] 43185/71 Heading A5B A skin cleansing composition comprises, (a) 40-90 weight % of a non-irritant substantially anhydrous polyol capable of exothermically dehydrating cutaneous tissue and (b) 10-60% of adsorbent particles. Polyols specified include propylene glycol, butane-1,3-diol, hexylene glycol, glycerol, diethylene glycol and dipropylene glycol. Adsorbents specified include kaolin, zinc stearate, fumed silica, fumed titania, Fullers earth, bentonite, attapulgite and sodium stearate. Ethanol may also be included as a liquid diluent. The composition may be made up as a lotion, cream or stick.
