1356983 Bearing assembly LEMFORDER METALLWAREN AG 8 June 1971 [9 June 1970] 19469/71 Heading B5A [Also in Division F2] A bearing suitable for supporting the cross pins or trunnions of universal joints, especially in motor vehicles, is made by deep drawing a sleeve 1 of sheet steel, hardening the sleeve 1, inserting a die 4 having a reduced cross-section 5, and injecting a plastics material through a sprue 6 into the cavity defined by the sleeve 1 and die 4, to form a bush 8. During setting, the plastics material shrinks away from the sleeve 1, and the die 4 is replaced by a trunnion on which the bush 8 is a non-sliding fit.
