Abstract

1356183 Tractor hitches; hay making machines C VAN DER LELY NV 19 Aug 1971 [19 Aug 1970] 39066/71 Headings A1P and A1P An agricultural implement, e.g. a hay making machine, which, in its operative position, pivots about vertical shaft 31 is locked in position on raising the towing tractors lifting mechanism by means of a plate 34 mounted in a trestle 32 and having recesses 38, 39 with which engages a pin 37 on the implement support beam 21. The recess 39 can be closed by a bar 43. The implement is attached to the tractor by means of the beam 21 which is rotatably mounted on the shaft 31 by means of two pairs of rollers (29), Fig. 4 (not shown), the connection beam also being free to move vertically on the shaft. A wheel 10 is provided under each rake head, and can be set in 3 different positions relative to the rake head by means of sockets (16) and locking pins (17), Fig. 1 (not shown). When the lifting device is in its lowered position, the locating pin 37 is free to move between edges 40 and 41, allowing some relative rotation when the implement is operating. When the lifting device is raised, however, the pin 37 abuts against the lower corner of recess 38 owing to the weight of the implement, and is therefore locked in position. A second recess 39 allows a second locked transport position, and is normally closed by the bar 43, hinged at 42, which is liftable by means of a rope 50, which may be pulled from the driver's seat. The crank 25, which enables the angle of tilt of the rake heads to be varied, passes through a sleeve turnably supported by trunnion pins 26 and though a block turnably supported by trunnion pins 28.
