1355717 Corner jointing preformed walls J LIBBERMANN 19 April 1971 [25 June 1970] 26473/71 Headings E1B and E1W A building structure comprises a pair of walls 1 arranged with their ends adjacent at an included angle less than 180‹, an intermediate section 2 on the outer side of the included angle engaging each wall to define therewith a chamber 3 at the angle between the walls, a tensionable member such as wire loop 21 secured to the section and projecting into the chamber, and a filling of settable structural material in the chamber anchoring the member which has been tensioned in a direction contained by the included angle of the walls before the filling of the chamber so as to draw the section 2 towards each wall 1. As shown, a corner of a building with preformed reinforced concrete wall slabs 1 comprising reinforced concrete shells 5, 6 separated by an insulating layer 7 and a moisture barrier 10 of bitumenised felt or board is closed by a preformed reinforced concrete corner piece 2 having an insulating layer 16 and embedded wire ties 21 which are tensioned by a bracing member 22 engaging the inner faces of the walls to compress resilient seals 4 between the walls and corner piece. Recesses 13 in the ends of the walls provide keying for concrete filling the chamber 3 in which reinforcing rods 20 are located. In an alternative form (Fig. 2 not shown), the walls are formed by a single leaf or reinforced concrete and the corner piece is of L cross section.
