Abstract

1355287 Blow-moulding S FISCHER 7 Feb 1972 [8 Feb 1971] 5518/72 Heading B5A Thermoplastic bottles &c., e.g. of P.V.C. and . of elongated cross-section are blow-moulded from a preform of circular section and uniform wall thickness wherein those parts of the preform having the smaller distance from the mould wall have increased extensibility. The increased extensibility may be achieved by increasing the temperature. The preform may be formed in an injection mould which may have cooling devices spaced appropriately or the preform may be reheated appropriately before introduction into the blow-mould. The extensibility may be arranged so as to provide a final article having uniform wall thickness.
