Abstract
1355261 Needle looms for terry fabrics J MULLER 7 June 1971 [9 June 1970] 19202/71 Heading D1E In a needle loom for weaving terry fabrics a selvedge knitting needle 5 is controlled so that as the loose pick is beaten up the hook of the needle moves as far forward as the loose pick is spaced from the fell, and when the fast pick is beaten up, the hook moves as far as the fell. The needle is controlled by an eccentric 16 acting through a toggle linkage 10 which is controlled by a further eccentric 19. A needle like device 21 is provided on the side from which weft loops are inserted, which descends into the weft loop as the loose pick is inserted, and holds its ends until the fast pick is beaten-up. A reciprocating bar 24 on the opposite side pushes the weft loops off the selvedge needle.
