Abstract

1355217 Composite iron oxide pigments RECKITTS (COLOURS) Ltd 27 Oct 1971 49951/71 Heading C4A A composite pigment is formed by suspending dry yellow iron oxide in an aqueous medium and adding a simple anionic dispersion of at least one further pigmentary material and metal ions in aqueous solution. Pigments specified are phthalocyanines, carbon black, vat and azo pigments. The metal ions are provided by salts of Mg, Ca, Zn, Al or Fe, e.g. ferric sulphate, magnesium sulphate and aluminium sulphate. The admixture is allowed to settle, waterwashed to remove the water-soluble components remaining, de-watered and dried.
