Abstract

1354630 Setting electric watcher DAINI SEIKOSHA KK 19 Dec 1972 [27 Dec 1971] 58555/72 Heading G3T Upon pulling out a setting stem 16b of a tuning fork watch, the electricity supply is disconnected, thus stopping the oscillation of the tuning fork 2, and the gear train between the tuning fork and the seconds hand is prevented from moving; upon pushing in the stem the supply is reconnected, the gear train is released and an impulse is imported to the tuning fork to restart oscillation. In normal use magnetic blocks 2a, 2b on the tuning fork are driven by a coil 6 of a circuit block 4 which is powered by a battery 15 via a switch comprising a pin 21 and a spring 20. When the stem 16b is pulled out, a setting lever (not shown) rotates a lever 18 so that an insulating portion 18b moves spring 20 away from pin 21 thus opening the switch. At the same time the movement of the end 16a of the stem permits a lever 22 to rotate under the action of a spring 24 to engage a third wheel 12 and prevent rotation thereof. Wheel 12 is part of a gear train comprising an index wheel 8, driven by a rod 7 fixed to the tuning fork, and wheels 10, 11, 12 and 13, the last of which drives the seconds hand. When the stem is pushed in, a spring 25 mounted on lever 22 impacts on a projection 2c of the tuning fork which thus immediately begins to execute full oscillations.
