Abstract

1354257 Valves IMI OPELLA Ltd 8 Feb 1973 [23 Feb 1972] 8355/72 Heading F2V A valve spindle 2 and jumper 8 are secured together to allow relative rotational but not axial movement, by locally deforming the material of the spindle at a position spaced from the ends of a blind bore 6, into an annular groove 10 formed in shaft 7 of the jumper. To enable the material to be readily deformed, a blind hole 12 is drilled at the desired position. The material may be deformed into the groove at a number of circumferentially-spaced positions.
