1354043 Clutch/brake combinations; fullface disc brakes; friction clutches VERSON ALLSTEEL PRESS CO 21 Jan 1972 [22 Jan 1971] 3061/72 Headings F2C F2L and F2E In a clutch-brake combination for a press wherein clutch and brake disc packs 60, 62 and 50, 52 respectively are disposed between driving and fixed spiders 64, 54 respectively, the brake is engaged by springs 44 compressing disc pack 50, 52 through presser member 34, the clutch being engaged by pressure fluid supplied through bore 30 to move a piston 26 to compress disc pack 60, 62. Thepiston 26andpresser 34areinterconnected by bolts 36 as shown, so the engagement of the clutch effects disengagement of the brake (and vice-versa).
