Abstract
1353621 Fuel injectors ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 27 May 1971 [9 July 1970] 17371/71 Heading F1B An electromagnetic fuel injection valve for time-controlled low-pressure injection systems for I.C. engines, has, in a bore in a housing, a needle 13 terminating in an injection pin 21 comprising a conical sealing shoulder 25 contiguous to a cylindrical neck 24, the sealing shoulder having an angle of taper # between 1 degree and 10 degrees less than the angle of divergence α of a conical surface 28 of the outlet end of the nozzle, where α is between 30 degrees and 40 degrees. The injection pin 21 has an injection cone 29 with taper angle 6 between 10 degrees and 30 degrees, preferably about 20 degrees and has a spray edge 30 which remains outside nozzle bore 22 even when the valve is fully open. The valve is biased closed by spring 34 and opened when energization of winding 4 acts on an armature 12 to which the needle 13 is screwed. Fuel is supplied through a soft iron core 6, axial bore 16, transverse bores 17 and axial grooves 18 formed in needle 13.
