Abstract

1353331 5 - Halo - 4 - amino - 2 - (alkoxy or alkenyloxy) benzole acids and their derivatives TEIKOKU HORMONE MFG CO Ltd 23 April 1971 [24 April 1970 (2)] 11077/71 Heading C2C 5 - Halo - 4 - amino - 2 - (alkoxy or alkenyloxy)-benzoic acids of the general formula wherein A is an alkyl or alkenyl group and X is a halogen atom, are prepared by reaction of a 4-amino-2-(alkoxy or alkenyloxy)-benzoic acid of the general formula with an N-halo acid amide or imide; and may then be converted to N-(dialkylaminoalkyl)-5- halo-4-amino-2-(alkoxy or alkenyloxy)-benzamides of the general formula wherein R 2 is an alkylene group and each of R 3 and R 4 is an alkyl group, and acid addition salts thereof by (a) reaction with a haloformic acid ester of the general formula XCOOR 1 , wherein R 1 is an alkyl, alkenyl or aralkyl group, followed by a dialkylaminoalkylamine of the general formula H 2 NR 2 NR 3 R 4 ; (b) reaction with a heterocyclic compound of the general formula wherein each of R 5 , R 6 , R, and R 8 is a nitrogen atom or a CH group, at least two of them in each ring being CH groups, G is a sulphur or carbon atom and X is an oxygen or sulphur atom, G being a carbon atom when Z is a sulphur atom, followed by a dialkylaminoalkylamine of the fifth general formula above; and (c) reaction with a compound of the general formula R 13 R 14 P-N(R 12 )-R 2 NR 3 R 4 , wherein each of R 13 and R 14 is an alkoxy or phenoxy group, or a group of formula -N(R 12 )-R 2 NR 3 R 4 or -N(R 2 NR 3 R 4 )-P[N(R 12 )R 2 NR 3 R 4 ] 2 , or R 13 and R 14 together form an alkylenedioxy or ophenylenedioxy group, and R 12 is a hydrogen atom, or R 12 and R 13 together form a P-N bond; followed optionally by salification of the product.
