Abstract
1352729 Indoor games NAKAMURA SEISAKUJO KK 8 Nov 1971 [18 Sept 1971 (2)] 51833/71 Heading A6H [Also in Division G4] An amusement device of the type in which a player aims and "shoots" at images formed in a picture comprises a transparent or semitransparent illuminated dome 8 carrying threedimensional models, e.g. airplanes; a device 9 including motors (M1, M2, M3) Fig. 3 (not shown) and a motor M4 under the control of a lever 4 operated by the player for imparting movements to the dome 8; a screen 10 on which images of the models are projected, the screen carrying a light sensitive element 14 disposed at the centre of a representation of a gun-sight (31), Fig. 4 (not shown) drawn on the screen; a curved mirror 11 which reflects the images on screen 10 for viewing by a player through a glass panel 2; and a player's firing button 6. The device may be coin-freed and is provided with a coin case 12 having a coin passageway 12A, together with lamps (34) for indicating the number of amount of coins inserted through a slot (5) Figs. 1, 5 and 6 (not shown). In operation, movement of the control lever 4 causes changes in the picture images such as to give the player a visual sensation of personal movement, e.g. flying, and when the button 6 is depressed lamps 32 are successively turned on to simulate the traces of bullets fired from a gun. When one of the images of the models is superimposed on the light-sensitive element 14 the incident light falling on the element 14 is reduced whereby a relay is actuated to energise a hit-indication lamp 33 so that a player observes the simulated explosion of a model hit by bullets. The lamp may be associated with a movable lens system arranged to give a more realistic simulation of the explosive effect (Figs. 7 and 8, not shown).
