Abstract

1352720 Valves JET SPRAY COOLER Inc 4 Aug 1971 [31 Aug 1970] 36580/71 Heading F2V A beverage dispenser has inlet passages 18, 20, 22 supplied respectively with flavour syrup, carbonated water and sweet water, and each passage defines a seat 27 for a respective valve member 28. The valve members have respective stems 30, 36, 38 and are biased to their closed positions by springs 70. The stems are intended to be operated in various combinations by a lever 14 connected by rod 56 to a pivoted handle 12 disposed adjacent outlet nozzle (16) to be actuated when a cup is placed under the nozzle. Stem 30 directly abuts the lever 14 and will thus always be operated when lever 14 is moved clockwise. Stems 36, 38, however, extend through slots in lever 14 and abut the lever 14 via washers 80, 82 which are selectively removable, together with spacers 76, 78, whereby the stems can be prevented from responding to movement of the lever. The valve members can thus be displaced by the lever to dispense high, low or non-carbonated beverage, and depression of the stems 36, 38 releative to the lever allows plain sweet or carbonated water to be dispensed. The syrup flows to the nozzle via passage 40, the carbonated water via passages 42, 46 and the sweet water via passages 44, 46. Adjusting screws 90, 92 control flow through passages 40, 42, and a replaceable flow regulating washer (110) in a sweet water supply fitting (100) ensures a constant flow of sweet water. The push handle could be replaced by a solenoid.
