Abstract

1351697 Extruding metals KOBE STEEL Ltd 16 Sept 1971 [19 Sept 1970] 43193/71 Heading B3P [Also in Divisions B5 C1 C3 and C5] In a method of producing lubricating and heat insulating components for use in metal extrusion, glass powder is wetted with either kerosene or water, mixed with a phenolic resin binder, and heated in a mould to cure the resin, the resin being present in an amount 1-8% of the total mixture. Enamel or other silicate based materials may be used instead of glass powder, and the component may be annular or disc shaped.
