Abstract

1351565 Trolleys K F STUBBERFIELD 15 Aug 1972 [26 April 1972] 19279/72 Heading B7B [Also in Division B8] A trolley comprises a U-shaped frame 11 supported by wheels 14 and a second U-shaped frame 16 connected thereto by pivoted links 21 and cranks 22. A spring 26 extends between a brace 25 on the frame 11 and the frame 16 and in the lowered position of the latter shown is tensioned. The links 17 when lowered can be run under shoulders of a load carrier such as a container to engage its margin and when the lever 23 secured to the cranks 22 is moved forward anti-clockwise the frame 16 is raised by its parallel linkage to lift the container to a transport position assisted by the spring 26. The frame 16 can be locked in its raised position by a spring loaded pin 24 entering a slot in the brace 13. In the lowered position shown the cranks 22 have moved over centre so that the spring 26 tends to lock them in position, but an additional safety lock may be provided. In a modification the frame 16 is provided with forks to engage a pallet.
