Abstract

1351363 Load handling pallets IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 6 Oct 1972 [12 Oct 1971] 47451/71 Heading B8H A one piece moulded plastics pallet comprises an upper deck 1 supported by a rectangular framework 2 with cross-members 7, 8 extending between opposed sides of the framework. Tine openings 6, 12 are provided respectively in the framework and the cross members and those parts of the framework and the cross-members which lie beneath the openings have upwardly inclined edge portions to guide the tines into the openings. The said portions of the crossmembers comprises upper and lower plate 13, 14 spaced apart by longitudinal and transverse ribs 15-20, the latter have their ends inclined to provide the guide surfaces. The portions of the cross-members above the openings are formed of a plate 10 spaced from the upper deck by ribs 22, no lead-in to such portion is required however as reinforcing ribs 24, of a similar height to such portions, are provided on the underside of the deck. The portions of the framework beneath the openings are formed of upper and lower plates 27, 26 joined by ribs 28 with their edges 29 on the outside of the frame inclined to provide the guide surfaces for the tines. The inner guide surfaces of the portion being formed by an inclined extension of the upper plate. The portion of the framework above the opening is formed by a plate 33 spaced from the upper deck by ribs 35 whose ends at the outside of the framework are inclined to provide the necessary guide surfaces.
