Abstract

1351073 Laminates SOC D'ETUDES & D' EXPLOITATIONS TECHNIQUE 27 Jan 1972 [26 Feb 1971] 3880/72 Heading B5N A composite packaging material comprises from front (eventual exterior surface of the packaging material) to back (eventual interior surface of the packaging material) a metallic film having an outwardly-directed reflecting surface, a layer of bonding agent, e.g. low density polyethylene, a first layer of uniaxially oriented high density polyethylene and a second layer of uniaxially oriented high density polyethylene, the orientation of which is transverse of that of the first layer. The metallic film may comprise a metallized film of transparent polyethylene glycol terephthalate, the transparent polyethylene glycol terephthalate constituting the exterior layer of the composite material. A layer of material acting as an adhesive under the influence of heat, ultrasonics or crimping, e.g. low density polyethylene, may also be applied to the second layer of high density uniaxially oriented polyethylene.
