Abstract

1350595 Bearings SKF (UK) Ltd 19 April 1971 [5 Feb 1970] 5626/70 Heading F2A A rolling bearing comprises an outer race part 52 and an abutting part 51 which abuts an end face of the part 52, there being an annular recess 49 in the external surface of the bearing at the junction between the parts. The recess accommodates an 0-ring 53 for mounting the bearing in a housing, and is formed by a rebate in one, other, or both of the parts. The bottom of the recess may taper axially. In further embodiments, a tapered roller bearing, a single row ball bearing, and a double row angular contact ball bearing are described.
