Abstract
1346531 Aminoacrylureas and thioureas CIBA-GEIGY AG 28 Jan 1972 [3 Feb 1971] 4196/72 Heading C2C Aminoaryl ureas and thioureas are prepared by reacting an arylenediamine with an alkyl-, cycloalkyl- or aryl-isocyanate or arylisothiocyanate in an inert organic solvent and in the presence of catalytic amounts of a tertiary base. The arylenediamine is preferably a phenylene diamine of the formula or a diphenylene diamine of the formula where X and Y are hydrogen or halogen atoms or alkyl or alkoxy groups having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, and where Y 1 and Y 2 are hydrogen or halogen atoms or alkyl or alkoxy groups having 1 to 6 carbon atoms or carbalkoxy groups having 2 to 7 carbon atoms. The isocyanate is preferably a naphthylisocyanate or a phenylisocyanate of the formula and the isothiocyanate is preferably a naphthylisothiocyanate or a phenylisothiocyanate of the formula where X 1 and X 2 are hydrogen or halogen atoms, alkyl, alkoxy or alkylsulphonyl groups having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, carbalkoxy groups having 2 to 7 carbon atoms or nitro, trifluoromethyl or phenoxy groups and X 3 is a hydrogen or halogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms. The invention further comprises aminodiphenyl ureas of the general formulµ and aminodiphenylthioureas of the general formula where Ar is an aryl radical and X 1 , X 2 , X 3, Y 1 and Y 2 are as described above.
