Abstract

1346529 Container hoisting units LIDHULTS MEKANISKA VERKSTAD AB 24 Nov 1972 [26 Nov 1971] 54462/72 Heading B8H A hoisting unit for use in lifting containers comprises a main frame 1 rotatably mounted on a carriage 17 comprising hollow beams 18 for receipt of the forks of a lift truck (not shown), the rotation of the frame 1 being effected by means of two hydraulic rams 23 which are each attached at one end to one of the beams 18 and at the other end to a member 9 of the frame 1, the said rotation being limited by the engagement of rollers 21 mounted on the beam 18 in respective slots 20 formed in support plates 19 mounted on the frame 1. Extension pieces 4, 5, which carry rotatable container engaging locking pins 11, are mounted on beams Y which are received in guides 9, 8 respectively forming part of the frame 1, the extension pieces 4, 5 being movable relative to the frame 1 by means of an electric motor 12 which drives a chain 14 attached to connecting bars 15, 16 which are joined to end beams 6 of the extension pieces 4, 5.
