Abstract

1345487 Tubular stranding machines SCHWERMASCHINENBAU - KOMBINAT ERNST THALMANN MAGDEBURG VEB 24 March 1972 14038/72 Heading D1T A tubular type stranding machine has:-(a) one end of a first tubular element 4 reinforced with a band 6 and provided at that end with an end wall 7 from which a centering hub 8 projects; (b) a raceway 5 supporting said hub 8 and connected on one face to the end wall 7 in the region of the hub 8 as well as in the region of its radially outer web; (c) a first bearing disc 9 secured to the opposite face of the raceway 5; (d) a second bearing disc 9' connected at its inner region to the first bearing disc 9; and (e) said second bearing disc 9' connected at its outer peripheral zone to a coupling ring 11 fixed to the end of a second tubular element 2'. The second tubular element 2' has an annular end wall 14 but has no hub portion. Air gaps are present between the peripheral face of the band 6 and an overlapping web of the raceway 5. An air gap is also present between the end wall 7 and the raceway 5.
