Abstract
1345159 Oxathiolanone and thiazolidinone derivatives IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd 15 June 1971 [26 June 1970] 31047/70 Headings C2C and C2P [Also in Division C4] Novel oxathiolanone and thiazolidinone derivatives have the general formula wherein n is 0, 1 or 2; R<SP>1</SP> and R<SP>2</SP> are hydrogen or optionally substituted hydrocarbyl groups or together represent an alkylene group; X is oxygen or an -N(R) group wherein R is hydrogen, a hydrocarbyl group or a dialkylamino group; and Y is either (i) a group of the formula where Z is oxygen, an oxime group or a phosphorus-containing ester derived therefrom, or a group OHR<SP>5</SP>, wherein R<SP>5</SP> is dialkylamino, or (ii) a group of the formula wherein R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> are hydrogen, halogen, hydrocarbyl, arylazo, thiocyano, acyloxy, phosphorus-containing ester linked through a sulphur atom, dithiocarbamate, xanthate, iminosubstituted cyanoalkylthio, or hydrocarbylthio groups; except that n cannot be zero when X is oxygen and R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> are hydrogen atoms or hydrocarbyl groups. The novel compounds possess pesticidal activity and may form the active ingredient in pesticidal compositions.
