Abstract

1344945 Door closer JAMES GIBBONS Ltd 5 Jan 1973 [6 Jan 1972] 625/72 Heading E2M A door closer comprises a pintle 13 journalled in a casing 10 to engage a door and carrying a cam 14 which upon door-opening rotation compresses springs 20 and prepares for action, a fluid check 26 through resiliently interconnected cam followers 24, 29. The cam followers 24 are carried by a bridle block 23 secured to tubes 22 sliding on rods 17 and carrying threadedly adjustable nuts 21 against which the springs 20 bear, while the cam followers 29 are carried by a block 28 secured to piston rod 25a, the blocks 23, 28 being interconnected by tension springs (30), Fig. 2 (not shown) so that the followers contact the cam at all times.
