Abstract

1344458 Building blocks ALLGEMEINE LIEGENSCHAFTEN and TREUHAND ANSTALT 21 Dec 1970 [27 Dec 1969] 60606/70 Heading E1B [Also in Divisions AS and A6] Each of a set of building blocks comprises an apertured frame 10 having along at least one outer edge face of unit length at least one tongue 11 and complementary groove 12 inclined to the plane of the frame so that each frame may be connected with another frame having a similar edge face which is of unit length or an integral multiple of the unit length. Cap plates 13, 15 having inclined latch elements 14 may be located in the open sides of the frame, plate 15 being provided with tongues and grooves 11, 12 so that building blocks may be connected together in planes at right angles to one another. In addition to the square full block shown there may be provided rectangular half blocks and small square quarter blocks, triangular blocks having orthogonal sides of the dimensions of the full and half blocks, and parallelogram blocks and trapezium blocks having at least one edge face capable of mating with another of the blocks. A cap plate and half of a frame (divided in its own plane) may be formed as an integral element for engagement with a like element to form a complete block. The blocks may be injection moulded in synthetic plastics material alone for toy buildings or of reinforced synthetic plastics for full scale building purposes.
