Abstract

1344073 Scribing apparatus S G BLAIR & CO Ltd 15 June 1971 [17 March 1970] 12870/70 Heading B4X Apparatus for scribing guide lines on the inside tubular wall of tubular kilns comprises a scribing head 30 mounted on a framework for rotation in a plane about an axis, the framework being provided with means for positioning the said axis substantially on the axis of the kiln. The framework comprises two A-frames 4 connected by member 6 and members 8 with bracing members 10. Cast iron wheels are mounted on legs 14 of the A-frames, the wheels being positionable as shown or at right angles. The length of legs 14 is adjustable as is the length of arm 26 which carries the scribing head. This arm 26 is mounted on bearing 28 as is a hand wheel 48 which is connected to the hand wheel by bracing members 52. The scribing head is resiliently mounted on arm 26 and the framework is dismantlable.
