Abstract
1344055 Vapour engine power plant. HALOCARBON PRODUCTS CORP 20 Sept 1972 [4 Jan 1972] 43458/72 Heading F1Q and FIT A vapour engine power plant has a working fluid comprising a compound of the general formula: - wherein X is CH 3 or CF 3 and n is O or 1. When n is O the compound is bis(trifluoromethyl) benzene in pure isomer form such as 1, 3-bis (trifluoromethyl) benzene or comprising mixtures of the isomers of compounds falling within the general formula as well as blends with other substances such as fluorinated hydrocarbons, benzene or toluene. Other compounds include 1, 3, 5-tris (trifluoromethyl) benzene or 1, 3-bis (trifluoromethyl)-5- methyl benzene. The plant may operate on a closed cycle including a reservoir, vapour generator, expander and condenser. The expander may be of turbine, piston or helical screw type. The vapour generator may be fired by specified liquid, gaseous or solid fuels.
