1342775 Boots &c JOHNSON & JOHNSON 19 April 1971 [20 Nov 1970] 25853/71 Heading A3B A foot covering, e.g. a disposable overshoe, is made of flexible material and consists of two identical panels 10a and 10b joined together along their front and bottom edges 22, 12, the panels having integral rear extensions 24a, 24b which form tie members 26. The overshoes may be cut from a single length of material folded along its length to form the bottom edge 12 or from two lengths joined together along their bottom edges. The front and rear edges 22, 30 have the same shape so that a single cut forms the rear edge of one overshoe and the front edge of the next overshoe. The panels are then joined along the front edge 20, 22 by stitching 36, adhesive or heat sealing. When using thermoplastic materials the heat sealing can be carried out at the same time as the cutting operation. In use the overshoe is placed on the foot and the tie members 26 are wrapped around the shoe and tied at the front of the ankle. Suitable materials for the overshoe are woven and non-woven fabrics, resinous films, resinous film coated woven or non-woven fabrics, resinous film coated paper and metal foils. The overshoe may also include a conductive anti-static strip 34 which extends from the sole region 18 and which can be tucked into the wearer's shoe.
