Abstract

1342608 Axial-flow fans FRAM CORP 19 April 1971 [12 March 1970] 22445/71 Heading F1C A fan comprises radial arms 13 carrying blades 15 having resilient trailing portions 18 which decamber as rotational speed increases, and a reinforcing cap 24 secured to each blade and arm and having a decamber-limiting portion 24a. Each cap 24 is formed with strengthening flanges 30, 32. Each trailing portion 18 is folded upon itself to provide a decambering weight 20 having a mass of about 15% of the mass of the trailing portion. The trailing portion 18, a leading portion 16 and the cap 24 are secured to the arm 13 by rivets 25, at least one additional rivet 29 being provided beyond the arm.
